Overview
Begin in Istanbul, where East meets West across the Bosphorus, explore Sultanahmet's ancient mosques, the Grand Bazaar, and the palace of Ottoman sultans before flying into the extraordinary landscape of central Anatolia.
In Cappadocia, fairy chimneys of volcanic tuff rise from an alien landscape carved by 3,000 years of civilisation. Göreme's cave churches are painted with Byzantine frescoes. Derinkuyu's underground city descends eight floors below ground. At sunrise, hundreds of hot air balloons drift above it all, an experience that exists nowhere else on Earth.
End in Pamukkale, where calcium-rich thermal springs have built terraced white travertine pools over millennia, and the ruins of Hierapolis, once a Roman spa city, stretch across the plateau above.
Turkey where ancient history and surreal landscapes converge to create an otherworldly experience like no other.

Cappadocia is beautiful year-round but the fairy chimneys, balloon rides, and hiking trails are at their finest in spring and autumn. Summer is hot and busy; winter brings snow that transforms the landscape into something magical, though balloons sometimes cancel.
Mild temperatures (15–25°C), wildflowers or golden autumn colours, and the best balloon conditions. Book this tour 3–6 months in advance for these dates.
Winter transforms the landscape, snow-dusted fairy chimneys are breathtaking. Lower prices, fewer crowds, but balloon rides may be limited. December–February can be very cold at night.
High summer reaches 30–35°C. Midday hiking is uncomfortable, tourist crowds peak, and the landscape is dry. Early morning activities (balloons, cool hikes) are still excellent.
Spend your first days exploring the historic Sultanahmet area. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace.
Take a sunrise hot air balloon ride for a breathtaking aerial view of Cappadocia's unique terrain. Visit the underground cities of Derinkuyu or Kaymaklı.
Drive or fly to Pamukkale, known for its surreal terraces of white travertine pools. Explore the ancient city of Hierapolis with its Roman ruins and ancient thermal baths.

From Our Travellers
We've done maybe 30 countries between us and neither of us had ever seen anything like Cappadocia at dawn from 800 feet. The cave hotel, the underground city, the pottery class, all wonderful. But that balloon. We're still talking about it three months later. Luxe Isles arranged every detail perfectly.
The underground city of Derinkuyu absolutely blew them away, they couldn't believe people actually lived down there. The balloon was terrifying for them (and us) and then the most magical thing imaginable. Pamukkale was like being on another planet. Turkey is extraordinary for families.
This was my first solo international trip and I chose Luxe Isles because they seemed genuinely attentive rather than just a booking engine. Our guide Ahmed was extraordinary, he knew everyone, got us into places before the crowds, and his passion for Turkish history made every site come alive. Highly recommend.
